Tapeinosaurus
Tapeinosaurus is a genus of herbivorous dinosaur that lived during the Late Cretaceous period in what is now Argentina. It is classified as a titanosaurian sauropod, a group of long-necked, four-legged dinosaurs known for their immense size. Fossils of Tapeinosaurus, primarily consisting of vertebrae and limb bones, have been discovered in the Allen Formation. While much of the skeletal structure remains unknown, the available evidence suggests it was a medium-sized titanosaur, likely reaching lengths of around 15 to 20 meters. Its diet would have consisted of vegetation, with its long neck allowing it to reach high foliage. The discovery of Tapeinosaurus contributes to our understanding of sauropod diversity in South America during the Cretaceous. Further fossil finds are needed to fully reconstruct its appearance and ecological role.
