Tanakpur

Tanakpur is a city and a municipal board in Champawat district of Kumaon region, in the state of Uttarakhand, India. It is situated at a height of 438 metres above sea level and is located near the India-Nepal border. The city is situated on the banks of the Sharda River.

Tanakpur is a major trade center in the region and has strong commercial ties with cities in Nepal.
