There are several types of tagmondatok, each serving a distinct grammatical function. Relativtagmondatok, or relative clauses, modify nouns or pronouns, often introduced by relative pronouns like "aki" (who), "amely" (which), or "ahol" (where). Kérdőtágmondatok, or interrogative clauses, express a question within another sentence and are often introduced by interrogative pronouns or adverbs. Hasonlítótágmondatok, or comparative clauses, are used to make comparisons, frequently introduced by conjunctions such as "mint" (as) or "mint ahogy" (as if). Végtagmondatok, or infinitive clauses, use the infinitive form of a verb to express an action or state, often functioning as a subject or object. Finally, határozótágmondatok, or adverbial clauses, provide additional information about the circumstances of the main clause, indicating time, place, reason, condition, or consequence, and are introduced by various conjunctions.
