TS0

TS0 is a designation used in several technical domains to denote a first slot or primary stream. Because it is not a standardized term across all fields, its meaning varies with context.

In telecommunications, TS0 commonly refers to Time Slot 0, the first timeslot in a TDMA frame. The frame is partitioned into a fixed number of timeslots, labeled TS0, TS1, etc. The exact role of TS0 depends on the system and protocol; it may carry control information, synchronization signals, or other data according to the relevant standard.

In digital broadcasting and video testing, TS0 is sometimes used informally to label a primary transport stream when multiple streams are present. This usage is not an official MPEG or DVB designation, but it can appear in documentation, test equipment, or engineering workflows to distinguish a baseline stream from supplementary ones.

In other domains, TS0 can appear as a model name, project code, or version label where the designation serves as an internal zero or baseline iteration. These uses are vendor- and context-specific and not universally standardized.
