TRPM8n
TRPM8n is a variant of the Transient Receptor Potential Melastatin 8 (TRPM8) ion channel. TRPM8 is a cold and menthol-activated cation channel that plays a significant role in sensory perception, particularly in detecting cold temperatures and certain chemical stimuli. It is primarily expressed in sensory neurons, as well as in non-neuronal cells like keratinocytes and prostate cells.
The TRPM8n variant arises from alternative splicing of the TRPM8 gene. While the full-length TRPM8 channel
Studies investigating TRPM8n have explored its presence and potential function in various tissues, including the skin
