Thyrotropin-releasing hormone receptor 2, also known as TRHR2, is a protein that in humans is encoded by the TRHR2 gene. This gene is located on chromosome 8. TRHR2 is a G protein-coupled receptor that is activated by thyrotropin-releasing hormone (TRH). TRH is a peptide hormone produced in the hypothalamus that plays a role in regulating the release of thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) from the anterior pituitary gland.
