Tühistamisloendite

Tühistamisloendite, often translated as cancellation lists or revocation lists, are mechanisms used in various systems to manage the status of items that have been invalidated or revoked. These lists serve as a central reference point to determine if a particular item is still considered active or if it has been permanently disabled. The concept is widely applicable, from digital certificates to physical access cards.

In the context of public key infrastructure (PKI), a common example is the Certificate Revocation List (CRL). A CRL is a list of digital certificates that have been revoked by the issuing certificate authority (CA) before their scheduled expiration date. This revocation can occur for various reasons, such as the compromise of the private key associated with the certificate or a change in the certificate holder's status. When a system needs to verify the authenticity of a digital certificate, it checks the relevant CRL to ensure that the certificate has not been revoked.

Beyond digital security, tühistamisloendite can be found in access control systems. For instance, an employee's access card might be added to a revocation list if they are no longer employed by the company or if their security clearance has been altered. Similarly, in certain licensing or subscription models, tühistamisloendite might be employed to track products or services that have been de-provisioned. The primary function remains the same: to provide a definitive record of invalidated entities.
