Sõeldud

Sõeldud is a small rural locality and former colony settlement in Orava Parish, East Harju County, Harju County, Estonia. The village is situated on the island of Muhu on the Saaremaa-West Estonia highway, approximately 175 kilometers west of Tallinn.

The settlement was established in 1953, primarily as a housing colony for skilled workers of the oil shale mines of Kohtla-Järve in northern Estonia. Many residents who lived there were brought in from various parts of the country to work in the oil shale industry, particularly in the Aken hydroelectric power plant and the nearby Narva Oil Shale Mining. The resulting need for housing led to the setup of Sõldu, serving as strategically located residences for workers in the area.

The area features a total of around 31 as of 2017 inhabitants and is located in the territory of the province of Harju and/or the East-Harju territory.
