Szulfátészterként

Szulfátészterként refers to a sulfate ester. Sulfate esters are a class of organic compounds in which a sulfuric acid group is esterified with one or more alcohol groups. The general formula for a sulfate ester is R-O-SO2-O-R', where R and R' can be alkyl or aryl groups. If only one alcohol group is esterified, the compound is a monosulfate ester with the formula R-O-SO2-OH. If two alcohol groups are esterified, it is a disulfate ester with the formula R-O-SO2-O-R'.

These compounds can be formed by reacting an alcohol with a sulfuryl halide or fuming sulfuric acid. Sulfate esters are often used as intermediates in organic synthesis. They can also be found in biological systems, such as in the form of glycosaminoglycans, where they play important roles in cell signaling and structural integrity. Some sulfate esters exhibit surfactant properties and are used in detergents and cosmetics. The reactivity of the sulfate ester group makes them susceptible to hydrolysis, yielding the corresponding alcohol and sulfuric acid or bisulfate.
