Szilágysomlyó, known in Romanian as Șimleu Silvaniei, is a town located in the northwestern part of Romania, in the historic region of Transylvania. Administratively, it is part of Sălaj County. The town is situated on the Șimleu River, a tributary of the Someș. Its geographical position places it in a transitional area between the Someș Plateau and the Apuseni Mountains.
