Szívinfúzió

Szívinfúzió, also known as cardiac infusion or cardiac injection, refers to the administration of medication or fluid directly into the heart muscle or a heart chamber. This route of administration is generally reserved for specific critical situations when other methods are not feasible or sufficiently effective.

The primary indications for szívinfúzió are usually emergency procedures. For instance, it might be used during open-heart surgery to deliver vasoactive drugs directly to the myocardium to improve contractility or to administer anesthetic agents in specific circumstances. In some rare instances, it has been employed in resuscitation efforts when intravenous access is difficult or failing to achieve the desired therapeutic effect.

The procedure itself involves a physician, often a cardiac surgeon or anesthesiologist, using a needle and syringe to inject the substance directly into the heart. Due to the invasive nature of the procedure and the proximity to vital cardiac structures, it carries significant risks. These risks include potential damage to the heart muscle, induction of arrhythmias, cardiac tamponade, or air embolism.

Szívinfúzió is not a common medical practice and is typically considered a last resort in highly specialized settings. The decision to perform this procedure is made by experienced medical professionals based on a careful assessment of the patient's condition and the potential benefits versus the inherent risks.
