Sytteinaceae is a family of fungi belonging to the order Hypocreales. Members of this family are typically found in soil and decaying organic matter. The genus Sytteria is the type genus for this family. These fungi are characterized by their often brightly colored, stromata which can be perithecial or apothecial in form. The asci are typically cylindrical and contain ascospores that are hyaline and filiform or allantoid.
