Syntenin4
Syntenin4 is a protein encoded by the *SYT4* gene. It is a member of the syntenin family, which are known to interact with cell adhesion molecules and participate in cellular processes such as cell-cell adhesion, migration, and intracellular trafficking. The syntenin proteins are characterized by the presence of two PDZ domains, which are protein interaction motifs that mediate binding to a variety of target proteins. Syntenin4 specifically has been implicated in the regulation of the Golgi apparatus and endosomal trafficking pathways. Research suggests that syntenin4 plays a role in the formation and function of intracellular vesicles, as well as in the organization of the Golgi complex. Its precise functions are still being actively investigated, but it is believed to be involved in processes requiring the coordinated movement and delivery of proteins and lipids within the cell.
