Sylabisk refers to a syllabary, which is a type of writing system where each symbol represents a syllable. Unlike alphabets, which represent individual phonemes (consonants and vowels), or abjads, which represent consonants, syllabaries focus on the combination of sounds that form a syllable. Each character in a syllabary typically corresponds to a consonant-vowel combination, such as "ka," "shi," or "to," or sometimes a single vowel.
