Suuntatilat, also known as directional indicators, are devices used in aviation to provide pilots with information about the aircraft's orientation relative to the Earth's magnetic field. These instruments are crucial for navigation, especially during instrument flight rules (IFR) conditions where visual references are not available. The primary suuntatila is the magnetic compass, which aligns itself with the Earth's magnetic field and provides a continuous indication of the aircraft's heading. Other suuntatilat include the gyroscopic compass, which uses a spinning rotor to maintain a stable reference, and the attitude indicator, which shows the aircraft's pitch and bank angles.
