Supinatorspieren, also known as the supinator muscles, are a group of muscles located in the forearm. The biceps brachii is the most powerful supinator muscle, but it is assisted by the supinator muscle, which is a smaller muscle located deep to the biceps brachii. The supinator muscle is innervated by the deep branch of the radial nerve, which originates from the brachial plexus. The supinator muscles are important for various daily activities, such as turning a doorknob or using a screwdriver. They are also crucial for sports and physical activities that require rotational movements of the forearm. Injuries to the supinator muscles can occur from overuse, trauma, or repetitive motions, and may require rest, physical therapy, or surgical intervention for treatment.
