Sufa

Sufa (Hebrew: סוּפָה) is a place name that can refer to multiple subjects in Israel. It is the name of a kibbutz in the northwestern Negev, located within the Eshkol Regional Council near the Gaza Strip. As a kibbutz, Sufa has historically combined agricultural activity with communal living and diversified its economy through light industry and services.

The name is also used for the F-16I Sufa, a two-seat multirole fighter aircraft of the Israel Defense Forces. The Sufa is a specialized variant of the F-16 Fighting Falcon developed for the Israeli Air Force, featuring Israeli avionics and mission equipment. It is produced through a collaboration between Lockheed Martin and Israel Aerospace Industries and has been in service since the 2000s, used by the IAF for air superiority, interdiction, and strategic strike missions. The Hebrew word "Sufa" means "storm."
