Subkostal

Subkostal refers to a region of the abdomen located below the costal margin. This area encompasses structures within the upper abdomen, situated just beneath the rib cage. Anatomically, it lies inferior to the ribs and superior to the umbilicus.

The subkostal region can be further divided into the right subkostal region, the left subkostal region, and the epigastric region in the center.
