Subklassificering

Subklassificering is a process of dividing a broader classification into more specific categories. This hierarchical approach helps to organize information, data, or concepts in a more detailed and nuanced way. For example, in biology, the classification of "animal" can be subclassified into "mammal," "reptile," "bird," and so on. Each of these subcategories can then be further subclassified.

The purpose of subklassificering is to provide greater precision and clarity. When a system is too broad, it may not be useful for specific analyses or decision-making. By introducing subcategories, users can more easily identify and isolate the particular items they are interested in. This is particularly important in fields like information management, library science, and database design, where efficient retrieval and organization are crucial.
