Subbética

Subbética, also known as the Sierra Subbética, is a mountain range in southern Spain that forms part of the Baetic System. It lies mainly in the province of Córdoba with extensions into Granada, within the autonomous community of Andalusia. The range runs roughly east–west and shapes the western edge of the Subbetic Zone, characterized by limestone and dolomite rocks that give rise to karst landscapes.

Geologically, the Subbética is associated with the Subbetic Zone, a belt of sedimentary rocks laid down in

cycling
and
caving,
as
well
as
scenic
drives
through
whitewashed
villages
and
extensive
olive
groves.
