Common typologies include episodic styckestil, with many short, self-contained sections connected by a loose thread; mosaic styckestil, which juxtaposes contrasting scenes, voices, or fragments; continuous styckestil, featuring long passages with a steady, uniform voice; and epistolary or diary-like styckestil, where sections take the form of letters or journal entries. A fragmented or experimental styckestil uses deliberate breaks, shifts in perspective, or typographical variation to challenge linear reading.
