Strowgerkytkimistä
Strowgerkytkimistä refers to a type of electromechanical telephone exchange system invented by Almon Brown Strowger. These systems were a significant advancement in telecommunications, enabling automatic switching of calls between subscribers without the need for a human operator. The core of the Strowger system is the rotary switch, also known as the Strowger switch. When a subscriber dialed a number using a rotary telephone, each pulse generated by the dial activated relays within the switch. These relays would then move a set of electrical contacts to establish a connection to the next switch in the sequence, progressively connecting to the desired destination number.
