Stormcast

Stormcast are a fictional faction within the Warhammer Age of Sigmar tabletop wargame. They represent the mortal souls of heroes reforged by the God-King Sigmar into eternal champions of Order. These warriors are clad in gleaming, intricately designed armour and wield powerful weapons blessed by the gods. Their purpose is to defend the realms of the mortal world against the forces of Chaos, Death, Destruction, and the treachery of certain Order factions.

The process of becoming a Stormcast involves being struck down in battle and then resurrected by Sigmar's hammer, Ghal Maraz. This transformation imbues them with immense strength, resilience, and unwavering loyalty. They are a symbol of hope and defiance in the face of overwhelming darkness. Stormcast are organized into numerous Stormhosts, each with its own unique history, specializations, and deployment strategies. They fight on battlefields across all the mortal realms, from the fiery landscapes of Aqshy to the celestial heights of Azyr. Their arrival is often heralded by celestial thunder, a reminder of Sigmar's power. Despite their divine nature, Stormcast are not immune to the trials of war and can suffer setbacks and losses, though their souls are ultimately destined to be reforged again if they fall.
