Stirobjs
Stirobjs are a fictional species originating from the planet Xylos in the Orion Nebula. They are known for their unique bioluminescent properties, emitting a soft, pulsating light from specialized organs embedded in their exoskeletons. This light is believed to serve multiple purposes, including communication, camouflage, and attracting mates. Physically, Stirobjs are roughly humanoid in shape, standing about two meters tall. They possess four slender limbs, two for locomotion and two for manipulation, ending in prehensile digits. Their heads are small and triangular, featuring large, multifaceted eyes that allow for excellent vision in low-light conditions. Instead of a mouth, they have a proboscis-like appendage used for nutrient absorption. Stirobjs are an omnivorous species, feeding on a variety of Xylosian flora and small, subterranean fauna. Their society is organized into communal hives, where individuals specialize in different roles, such as foraging, defense, and reproduction. They are known for their peaceful nature and advanced understanding of bio-engineering, which they use to cultivate their environment and sustain their population. Their primary form of communication, beyond bioluminescence, is a series of complex clicks and whistles, producing a melodic language that is difficult for other species to decipher. Little is known about their historical development, but it is theorized that they evolved from a single-celled organism that developed symbiotic relationships with light-producing bacteria.
