Standardhäälestus
Standardhäälestus, often referred to as standard tuning, is the most common method of tuning a stringed instrument, particularly the guitar. In standard tuning for a six-string guitar, the strings are tuned from lowest pitch (thickest string) to highest pitch (thinnest string) to the notes E, A, D, G, B, and E. This tuning is widely adopted due to its versatility and its presence in countless musical compositions across various genres. It provides a convenient arrangement of notes that facilitates playing chords, scales, and melodies. The interval between each adjacent string, with the exception of the G and B strings, is a perfect fourth. The interval between the G and B strings is a major third. This specific arrangement contributes to the ease with which many common musical patterns can be formed on the instrument. Standardhäälestus is the foundational tuning for most guitar instruction and is therefore the starting point for many aspiring musicians. While other tunings exist and are used for specific musical effects or styles, standard tuning remains the dominant and most recognized configuration for guitars worldwide.
