Spektroszkófia

Spektroszkófia, often translated as spectroscopy, is a scientific method used to analyze the interaction between matter and electromagnetic radiation. This interaction provides information about the physical and chemical properties of a substance. When radiation passes through a sample or is emitted by it, certain wavelengths are absorbed or emitted at specific frequencies. A spectroscope or spectrometer is an instrument that separates and measures these wavelengths, producing a spectrum. This spectrum acts like a unique fingerprint for the substance, revealing details about its atomic and molecular structure.

Different types of spectroscopy exist, categorized by the region of the electromagnetic spectrum used, such as visible, ultraviolet, infrared, or X-ray spectroscopy. Each type probes different aspects of matter.
