Spannungsabfall, also known as voltage drop, refers to the reduction in electrical potential along the path of an electric current. This phenomenon occurs due to the resistance of the conductive material through which the current flows. As electrons move through a conductor, they collide with atoms, losing some of their energy in the process. This energy loss manifests as a decrease in voltage.
