Sorsakoski

Sorsakoski is a district and former industrial village in the municipality of Leppävirta, located in the Savonia region of Eastern Finland. It is situated on the southeastern shore of Lake Sorsavesi. Historically, Sorsakoski was an important industrial center, primarily known for its metalworks factory.

The Sorsakoski metalworks, founded in the late 19th century, played a significant role in the economic development of the area. It manufactured various metal products, including agricultural machinery, tools, and household items. The factory attracted a considerable workforce, leading to the growth of a distinct industrial community around it. Over time, the factory's operations evolved, and its ownership changed.
