Solaise

Solaise is a mountain in the French Alps, located in the Savoie department of France, near the village of Val-d'Isère. It is a prominent feature in the Espace Killy ski area and serves as a reference point for the surrounding terrain.

Geography and features: Solaise lies to the west of Val-d'Isère and forms part of the ridges that frame the Tarentaise Valley. The upper slopes are a mix of rock faces and snowfields, with a plateau-like summit area that provides wide views of the valley and surrounding peaks. The mountain is actively used for sport and recreation, particularly as part of Val-d'Isère's ski infrastructure.

Access and recreation: In winter, Solaise is reached via a network of ski lifts and pistes; the accessible upper slopes host intermediate and advanced runs and serve as a vantage point for sunset views.
