Sobhuza

Sobhuza was a prominent Swazi traditional leader. He is most famously known as Sobhuza II, who reigned as the Paramount Chief of Swaziland and later as King of Eswatini. His reign was one of the longest in history, spanning over 82 years, from 1899 to 1982. He ascended to the throne as an infant, and his grandmother, Lomawa Ndwandwe, served as regent during his minority.

Sobhuza II played a crucial role in Swaziland's journey towards independence. He guided the nation through periods of British protectorate rule and was instrumental in regaining full sovereignty in 1968.
