Smältprocesserna refers to the physical or chemical processes by which a substance changes from a solid to a liquid state. This transition, known as melting or fusion, occurs when the substance absorbs enough energy, typically in the form of heat, to overcome the intermolecular forces holding its particles in a fixed, rigid structure. The temperature at which this change occurs is called the melting point, a characteristic property of pure crystalline solids.
