Skyddstal
Skyddstal is a Swedish term that translates to "protection number" or "safety rating" and is primarily used in the context of electrical safety. It refers to the degree of protection provided by an electrical enclosure against access to hazardous parts, ingress of foreign objects, and ingress of water. This concept is standardized internationally, most notably by the Ingress Protection (IP) rating system.
The Skyddstal, or IP rating, consists of two digits. The first digit indicates the level of protection
Therefore, a higher Skyddstal value generally implies greater protection for both the user and the equipment
