Sireth is a city-state in the western highlands of Eldoria, perched on the Sireth Plateau above the River Ryn. It functions as a regional center for trade, governance, and culture, with a reputation for craft production and civic autonomy.

The name Sireth appears in ancient inscriptions and is thought to derive from the Sirethi language, meaning “harbor of twilight” or “sheltered crossing.” The exact origin remains disputed.

Sireth sits on the plateau above the Ryn, with a crescent harbor at White Quay. The surrounding hills support terraced agriculture and oak woodlands, yielding a mild climate and a compact urban form.

History of the city traces to a coalition of potters, smiths, and merchants in the early medieval era, after which Sireth developed a guild-based oligarchy. The Council of Twelve governs, balancing commerce, defense, and customary law.

The Council of Twelve handles law and budgets, while rotating magistrates supervise day-to-day administration. Citizens participate through guild assemblies on major policy decisions.

Sireth’s economy centers on textiles, glassware, shipbuilding, and river trade. The biannual Moon Market festival showcases crafts, music, and street theater; Sirethi remains the dominant language with regional loanwords.

Notable sites include the Silver Spire, the Great Library, and the Gate of Winds. White Quay serves as the principal harbor, connected to warehouses by a network of canals.

The city hosts about 110,000 residents, comprising diverse guilds and immigrant communities that contribute to a distinct cultural identity and resilient urban economy.
