Siloksaanrühmad, often referred to as siloxane groups or siloxy groups, are a fundamental structural unit in organosilicon chemistry. These groups are characterized by a silicon-oxygen backbone, with organic substituents attached to the silicon atoms. The general formula can be represented as R2Si-O-, where R typically denotes an organic group such as methyl, ethyl, or phenyl.
