Silicatederived refers to substances or materials that originate from silicate precursors or silicate-based networks. The term is not standard formal nomenclature, but is used in some contemporary literature and databases to emphasize the silicate origin of a material, such as silica, silicate minerals, or aluminosilicate frameworks.

Typical silicatederived materials include silica and silica-based derivatives (fumed silica, colloidal silica), aluminosilicate frameworks such as zeolites and clays, mesoporous silicas (MCM-41, SBA-15), glass-ceramics, and various silicon-containing composites.
