Shoreview

Shoreview is a city located in Ramsey County, Minnesota, United States. It is situated in the northeastern portion of the Minneapolis-Saint Paul metropolitan area, approximately 10 miles northeast of downtown Saint Paul. The city's name reflects its location along the shores of several lakes, most notably White Bear Lake.

The area that is now Shoreview was settled by European Americans in the mid-19th century, with agriculture being the primary economic activity. As the Twin Cities grew, Shoreview experienced a significant population increase in the mid-20th century, transforming from a rural community into a suburban residential area. The city was officially incorporated in 1957.

Shoreview is known for its numerous parks and recreational opportunities, largely due to its abundant lakes and undeveloped land. Notable parks include Shoreview Commons and the Rice Creek Chain of Lakes Park Reserve, which offers trails for hiking and biking, as well as water access for boating and fishing.
