Shiryu

Shiryu is a fictional character from the Saint Seiya franchise, created by Masami Kurumada. He is one of the main protagonists, specifically one of the 88 Saints who protect Athena. Shiryu is the Saint of the Dragon constellation. He is known for his calm and composed demeanor, often meditating deeply and displaying a strong sense of justice and loyalty to his friends, particularly to Seiya, the protagonist.

Hailing from China, Shiryu was trained by the ancient Master Dohko, who also serves as the Gold Saint of Libra. Shiryu's signature techniques include the Dragon's Ascent (Ryūsei Ken), a rapid barrage of punches, and the Dragon's Tail (Ryūga Sen-Kyaku), a powerful spinning kick. He is also famous for his ultimate move, the Rozan Sho Ryu Ha, also known as the Ultimate Dragon or the Hundred Dragons of the Rosan, which unleashes a torrent of dragon-like energy.

Throughout the Saint Seiya series, Shiryu consistently demonstrates immense bravery and selflessness, often at the cost of his own well-being. He is known for his willingness to sacrifice himself to protect Athena and his comrades, and he has a particular connection with his eyes, which he has blinded and restored multiple times in battle, symbolizing his deep understanding and sacrifice. His unwavering resolve and spiritual strength make him a pivotal figure in the battles against various divine and earthly threats.
