Sexuées
Sexuées is a term used in biology to describe organisms that reproduce through sexual reproduction. This process typically involves the fusion of gametes, such as sperm and eggs, from two parents to create offspring that are genetically distinct from both parents. Sexual reproduction is characterized by meiosis, a type of cell division that reduces the chromosome number by half, and fertilization, where the gametes combine to restore the diploid number of chromosomes. The genetic variation introduced through sexual reproduction is a key factor in the adaptation and evolution of species. Organisms that reproduce asexually, on the other hand, produce offspring that are genetically identical to the parent. The term "sexuées" specifically refers to the sexual mode of reproduction as opposed to asexual reproduction.
