Sergius

Sergius is a masculine given name of Latin origin, derived from the Roman gens Sergia and the praenomen Sergius. In Russia, Saint Sergius of Radonezh (c. 1314–1392) was a celebrated monk and founder of the Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius near Sergiyev Posad, a major spiritual center for the Russian Orthodox faith and a source of monastic reform.
