Selity

Selity is a term that may refer to different concepts depending on language and context. It does not correspond to a single widely recognized definition in major languages, but it resembles the Finnish lexemes selitys (explanation) and selittää (to explain).

Within Finnish, selitys is the noun for explanation; selittää is the verb meaning to explain. The form selity alone does not constitute a standard dictionary entry, though it can appear as a stem in inflected forms or in compounds.

In other languages with related roots, similar-sounding forms may participate in words for explanation, instruction, or justification, but usages are language-specific.

As a proper noun, Selity has been used in fictional or hypothetical contexts as a project name, organization, or place. In such uses, the meaning is determined by the creator and not by a universal definition.
