Sekundaarijohdot

Sekundaarijohdot, often translated as secondary windings, are a fundamental component in electrical transformers. They are coils of wire wrapped around a core, distinct from the primary winding. The interaction between the magnetic field generated by the primary winding and the secondary winding is what allows a transformer to either increase or decrease voltage.

When an alternating current flows through the primary winding, it creates a changing magnetic flux within the transformer's core. This changing magnetic flux then induces a voltage in the secondary winding. The ratio of the number of turns in the primary winding to the number of turns in the secondary winding determines the voltage transformation. If the secondary winding has more turns than the primary, the voltage is stepped up (increased). Conversely, if the secondary winding has fewer turns, the voltage is stepped down (decreased).

The purpose of secondary windings is to provide the desired output voltage for various electrical devices and systems. They are crucial for efficiently transmitting electrical power over long distances by stepping up the voltage for transmission and then stepping it down for safe use by consumers. The design and impedance of secondary windings are critical factors in transformer performance and efficiency.
