Seebijääkide
Seebijääkide refers to the solid residue that can form when soap is used in hard water. Hard water contains dissolved minerals, primarily calcium and magnesium ions. When soap, which is typically a salt of a fatty acid, comes into contact with these ions, a chemical reaction occurs. This reaction results in the formation of insoluble precipitates, often referred to as soap scum or, in Finnish, seebijääkide.
