Antimony tribromide (SbBr₃) is an inorganic compound composed of antimony and bromine, with the chemical formula SbBr₃. It is a crystalline solid that appears as colorless or pale yellow plates, though it often exhibits a yellowish tint due to impurities or light exposure. SbBr₃ is a member of the group of antimony halides, which also includes SbF₃, SbCl₃, and SbI₃.

SbBr₃ is typically prepared by direct combination of its constituent elements under controlled conditions. Antimony reacts with bromine vapor at elevated temperatures, producing the tribromide. It can also be synthesized through the reaction of antimony(III) oxide (Sb₂O₃) with hydrobromic acid (HBr) or bromine in the presence of a solvent. It is a Lewis acid, meaning it can accept electron pairs, which influences its reactivity in various chemical processes.
