Sasanianthe
Sasanianthe is a genus of moths in the family Erebidae. The genus was first described by Frederic Moore in 1877. Sasanianthe moths are found in Asia, primarily in the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia. The larvae of Sasanianthe species feed on various plants, including species of Ficus. The adult moths are nocturnal and are attracted to light.
There are currently two recognized species within the genus Sasanianthe:
Sasanianthe ignis, described by Moore in 1877, is found in India and Sri Lanka.
Sasanianthe subflava, described by William Warren in 1891, is found in India.
Further research is ongoing to understand the full diversity and ecological roles of Sasanianthe moths. Their
