Sarjaliitännäinen

Sarjaliitännäinen refers to a method of connecting electrical components in a circuit such that the electric current flows through each component sequentially. This is in contrast to a parallel connection, where components are connected across the same voltage source, allowing current to split. In a series connection, the components are arranged in a single path.

The key characteristic of a sarjaliitännäinen configuration is that the total resistance of the circuit is the sum of the individual resistances of each component. Similarly, the current flowing through each component is the same, and it is equal to the total current supplied by the source. However, the voltage across each component is proportional to its resistance. If one component in a sarjaliitännäinen circuit fails or is removed, the entire circuit is broken, and current will no longer flow.
