SanskritIndoAryan refers to the Sanskrit language, an ancient Indo-Aryan language. It is the classical language of the Indian subcontinent and a member of the larger Indo-Iranian language family. Sanskrit is believed to have developed from Proto-Indo-Aryan, which in turn descended from Proto-Indo-Iranian. Its earliest attested form is Vedic Sanskrit, found in the Rigveda, composed between 1500 and 1200 BCE. Later, Classical Sanskrit emerged, codified by grammarians like Pāṇini in his monumental work, the Ashtadhyayi.
