Sanghamitra
Sanghamitra, also known as Sanghamitra Devi, was a prominent figure in the ancient Indian epic Mahabharata. She was the daughter of King Shantanu and Queen Ganga, and the sister of Bhishma, the revered charioteer and advisor to the Pandavas. Sanghamitra is primarily known for her role as the mother of the Kauravas, the hundred sons of King Dhritarashtra, and the wife of King Pandu, the father of the Pandavas. Her marriage to Pandu was a significant event in the epic, as it brought together the two rival families, the Kauravas and the Pandavas, under the same roof. Sanghamitra's character is not extensively detailed in the Mahabharata, but she is mentioned as a wise and virtuous woman who played a crucial role in the political and familial dynamics of the epic. Her story is a testament to the complex web of relationships and alliances that shaped the Mahabharata narrative.
