SaintExupérys is a French surname most famously associated with Antoine de Saint-Exupéry (1900–1944), a renowned writer and aviator. Born in Lyon to a family with aristocratic roots, he pursued a career as an airmail pilot in the 1920s and 1930s, an experience that shaped much of his literary work.

Saint-Exupéry's writing blends lyrical prose, technical insight, and contemplative philosophy. His best-known work, The Little Prince, published in 1943, has become one of the most translated and widely read books, celebrated for its themes of friendship, responsibility, and the search for meaning. He also published Night Flight (1931), a novel about the dangers and moral costs of commercial aviation, and Wind, Sand and Stars (1939), a memoir that earned critical acclaim for its humane portrayal of pilots and the desert and sky.

In 1940, after France's defeat, Saint-Exupéry joined the Free French Air Forces during World War II and conducted reconnaissance missions. He disappeared on a flight over the Mediterranean in July 1944; his fate remains unresolved, and he is presumed dead. The Saint-Exupéry name persists primarily through his literary and aviation legacy, with The Little Prince and his other works continuing to influence literature, philosophy, and the arts, and to symbolize a humanist ethos grounded in the experience of flight.
