STM-4 is a rate in the Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (SDH) used in telecommunications networks. It provides a gross data rate of 622.08 megabits per second, which corresponds to the SONET OC-12 rate. STM-4 is formed by multiplexing four STM-1 signals, each at 155.52 Mbps, into a single higher‑rate frame.
