STATCOMtyyppiset

STATCOMtyyppiset refers to devices that function similarly to Static Synchronous Compensators (STATCOMs). STATCOMs are a type of Flexible AC Transmission System (FACTS) device used to improve power quality and grid stability. They are voltage-source converters that can inject or absorb reactive power into the transmission grid. This allows them to control voltage levels, dampen power oscillations, and improve transient stability.

Devices referred to as STATCOMtyyppiset would operate on these same principles. They utilize power electronics, typically insulated-gate bipolar transistors (IGBTs) or similar switching devices, to generate a controllable AC voltage.
